Three Ways To Increase Your Bookings
Jul 01, 2022During the different seasons of your beauty biz you may find yourself trying lots of things to keep your calendar booked and busy! This is why we are always hearing from you beauty biz babes about how to gain and grow clientele! We get it, it takes time and sometimes we can be a little impatient through this process. One thing that I would LOVE you to keep in mind when running your business, is that it’s easier and more beneficial to retain clients then it is to constantly be looking for new people to fill up your calendar. With that being said, getting new people through your doors and onto your books is where you have to start before you can work your magic with client retention. If you’re feeling a struggle to get your calendar booked where you’d like it to, we have a few suggestions for you to get the ball rolling!
1. Be Dedicated To Showing Up
There’s times when we fall off from showing up in our business and our calendar reflects that. One of the secrets to getting clients to book with you is staying top of mind. Clients don’t normally seek out a service unless there’s an event or circumstance that makes them need what you offer, but by consistently showing up in front of your clients through social media and email newsletter marketing, you are keeping your name in front of those clients at all times. This will help spark the initiative to book even before they have an event to go to and it will allow them to readily think of the place they will go to when that time does come that they are in need of services. In order to keep yourself top of mind, make a commitment to showing up for 30 days on a consistent basis in your business. That means consistently posting to social media, consistently sending out newsletters, consistently following up with clients, etc. Stay dedicated to this goal and see where it takes you!
2. Collaborate
The word, “networking” should be one of your favorite words as you’re growing your business and building a clientele. When you start to mingle and connect with other biz babes in the same industry as you, such as photographers, makeup artists, lash artists and hair stylists, you open your business up to a multitude of more eyes and ears. Remember, no one can book with you if they don’t know you exist! The great thing about collaborating with other professionals within your industry is that they are constantly working with people who are most likely also your ideal clients. Clients that go see hairstylists and estheticians love to treat themselves to some self care, clients that work with makeup artists and photographers are going to want to look their best on whatever occasion they are working with those businesses on, which is something you will also want to be a part of! A few ways you can collaborate is through doing a giveaway on Instagram together or partnering in a way where when a client books with a photographer for a session, there’s a package that includes your services.
3. Work With Ambassadors
Building an ambassador program can feel a little intimidating. What’s important to know is that this doesn’t have to be complex! There’s plenty of micro influencers or current clients of yours that would love to work with you in expanding your business! Setting up an ambassador program not only helps get the word out about your business through working with people that have a larger outreach than you and can consistently spread the word to a different set of people. Bringing on ambassadors can also help you create consistent content for your biz. If you get super stressed at client appointments thinking about how you want to be able to do some behind the scenes work but you don’t want to disrespect your clients time or make them feel uncomfortable, you can bring in your ambassadors to create photos and videos that show your services in a way that is professionally curated. Quality content is what we are aiming for, folks!
The common theme of all of these tips is consistency and growing your network! There are several ways that you can increase word of mouth of your business and with the help of different types of collaborations, you’ll start driving more interest from different groups of people. You also need to stay dedicated to your growth. Although this doesn't happen overnight, it won’t happen at all if you don’t show up in your biz! Challenge yourself to keep consistent with marketing and networking initiatives that will drive more eyes and ears to your beauty biz and soon you’ll see the fruits of your labor!
