3 Ways to Get More Clients For Your Sunless Business
Dec 24, 2022Ah, one of the number one questions I get asked from sunless biz owners who want nothing more than to make their beauty biz dreams a reality: “how do I get more clients!?” Growing your clientele means growing your business, thus allowing you to make more money! And we love money, right!? Money allows us to create the lifestyle that we crave for ourselves, but that doesn’t always mean it’s an easy process, which I’m sure most of you know already! With that being said, I have three must-do tips in order to get more clients, grow your business and continue down the path of bringing all your dreams to fruition.
ONLINE VISIBILITY
Girlfran, I know this may not be a shock to you, but just as a reminder, if people don’t know that you exist, they can’t possibly know that they should book with you! The internet is an incredibly useful tool for growing your business and for a lot of you, it’s probably an underutilized tool. Which means, you’re not doing everything you can to become visible online. YET! We know that advertising and promoting our service on social media is a great way to go about marketing our business and getting new clients, but sometimes you need to think outside of the realm of just social networking platforms.
The internet is a big place with a lot of resources, so, where to start?
- Get a Yelp account
- Start a Google My Business (and continue to update it!)
- Create & be active on social media
- Make a website
Whatever you have to do to be visible in multiple different areas in the online world, do that! I promise you, friend, this will help to increase the amount of people reaching out to get onto your books because visibility is what we are after here. The more ways that you are accessible online, the higher the chances are that the right people are going to run into your business online when they’re looking for the exact services you offer.
NOTICE YOUR PATTERNS
You may be a business owner, but guess what? You’re also a consumer! You search for services and research products on the internet just like the rest of the world. Not only that, but a lot of the time, our ideal client is a lot like us in terms of the way we behave and the types of things that we like. This gives you massive insight into the process that our future clients go through when looking for a new service. A great way to start growing your clientele involves you asking yourself, “how do I find people in my area for business services?”
If you take a look at yourself and the patterns you have when you’re searching for a new service, you can start to create systems and funnels for your beauty business that guides your clients right to you. For example, if you realize that you tend to use instagram hashtags as a search engine, make sure that you’re always using niche hashtags when you market through your social platforms.
COLLABORATE
There’s so much opportunity that comes from collaborating with other business owners who also serve the type of clients you hope to bring into your business. Below are examples of other businesses and individuals who can offer great partnerships with you when it comes to expanding your network and growing your clientele.
- Photographers
- Makeup Artists
- Event Coordinators
- Estheticians
- Hair Stylists
- Wax Specialists
- PMU Artists
That’s just the start! The list really can go on and on. It’s important to remember that a lot of the professionals you can collaborate with may already be a part of the beauty industry, however, there’s a lot of businesses that are not directly correlated with the beauty industry that can be great partners for expanding your reach. Thinking outside of the box can serve you well when you’re looking to collaborate so make sure to consider your specific niche for the type of clients you typically bring into your business. As an example, if your niche market for spray tanning is bridal clients, creating a collaboration with venues, event coordinators, florists, bridal shops, etc. can be a great way to get the word out about the services you offer to that particular clientele.
The common theme throughout these three tips to growing your clientele is understanding where your clients are and placing yourself in front of them. The best way to grow your clientele is to make it easy for people to find you and know what you offer. Luckily, there’s plenty of ways you can go about doing just that!
